Are you thinking about traveling anytime soon? You’re actually in good company. Many people derma about going on holiday because it’s existing and it allows them to get away from their everyday life. However, what if your everyday life was nothing but virtually non-stop travel? Wouldn’t that be exciting?

Nonsense, you say — there’s no way that travel jobs exist. That’s just something for movie stars to portray in movies and for those special few that luck into big opportunities. But is that really the case?

Well, it honestly depends on what type of skills you’re actually bringing to the table. Becoming a travel writer is a matter of having connections, but you can indeed get into the industry. You need to build a writer’s portfolio of your work and explain what other skills you have to bring to the table. You might be fluent in a wide variety of languages — that could open up a lot of work as a translator. Believe it or not, there are many high paying jobs for translators, but you really do need to be as fluent as you possibly can.

There are also people that are looking for people that can work on a cruise ship. You might not realize it, but cruise ships actually employ hundreds of people all of the time. They need to have the personnel on hand that can really help bring joy and pleasure to your guests.

There are plenty of sites online that accumulate job listings for cruise ships. It’s a perfect way to actually see the world and get paid doing it.

There’s also the world of adventure tourism — sort of a mix between Fear Factor, Bizarre Foods, and The Crocodile Hunter. You will have plenty of adventure waiting for you if you decide to pursue this type of world.

You will need to think about the skills that you bring to the table. If you aren’t physically fit — you might need to change that in order to get attention. You will need to definitely be a people person in order to land a job like this!

Getting onto a big yacht is another way to see parts of the world that you wouldn’t normally see. You just need to do some digging around and make some new connections. You can work on the boat and travel to the same locations that the boat is traveling to. Boats are often out to sea for a long time, which means that they need a trained staff that can really make sure that all is well.

Of course, even though we’re talking about jobs that pay, there’s always volunteering. You never know when a volunteer position is going to turn into a paid position — especially if you display that you have plenty of skills.

Now, you might notice a few classic themes here: skills, networking, connections. If you’re not an outgoing person, you might have some trouble breaking into a travel job. It’s really going to be all about your personally. On the other hand, if you really love working with people and you’re determined to get known, then you really shouldn’t have any trouble eventually getting into a great travel job that lets you really see the world!

There’s nothing wrong with being protective over your children. They are, without question, the most important thing in your life. You don’t want anything to happen to them, and it goes without saying that you really do want the very best in life for them. It would be better to always make sure that they can have the best of everything, but sometimes you have to wait on things.

But is travel one of those things that you need to wait until they’re much older for them to enjoy? Definitely not. It’s one of the most controversial areas of travel. We all value our children very much, and travel is a big unknown. There are a lot of things that can go wrong, and then when you add in the idea of winter travel, people get very nervous. However, we’re not fans of believing that disaster is lurking in every corner. With smart planning, you can really minimize the risk that your children would face if they traveled with you.

Not sure what to do from here? This guide is definitely your friend!

First and foremost, you must make sure that you are actually going to get your trip planned out from start to finish. Yes, last minute trips can be done, but whenever there are small children involved, there’s already enough stress. We don’t think that anyone should try to do a last minute trip with children involved, not without having a lot of experience under their belts to begin with.

You must make sure that you already have all medications accounted for, if they need to be refilled. Children tend to get sick in the winter, and you don’t want to just assume that you’re going to be able to get anything you need to treat them in the host country. Be sure that you not only get letters fro your doctor stating what needs to be taken and when, but also that you talk to customs on both sides to make sure that you aren’t stopped in security for having the liquids in your possession. Controlled substances can be tricky, and narcotics can be downright disbarred — even if you do have the right papers for them. If that’s the case, you will have to have your doctor ship them to a pharmacy there, where they can be held security and picked up by you. Make sure that you have your passport if you have to do that.

Winter travel also means dressing smart — this is not the time to see how few things you can leave with in terms of suitcases. If you have to make sure that you have extra warm clothing for your children, definitely do so. If you know that you will be able to get their sizes in the new country, then you might be able to pack a bit less. However, you don’t want your children cold.

If you’re going to a tropical climate, then the advice is definitely in reverse. You want to absolutely make sure that you’re thinking about getting loose fitting clothing so that sweat has a chance to wick away from the skin, not be pressed up against the skin.

Traveling on long flights can make children feel tired and irritable — especially when they don’t feel they have anything to do. This is where you can bring their favorite little movies that can be watched on small DVD players, or a laptop for the older kids. They can at least play games on the flight. It’s also important to let them know the benefits of being polite — travelers will be pleased your children aren’t making too much of a fuss. Babies do cry on long flights, and it’s a fact of life. While you’re willing to be accommodating, there’s no need to feel that you have to punish your children for being children, either.

What you will find is that children are pretty universal in the travel world — going to another country means that other people will see your kids, and it’s not a weird thing at all. Westerners have found that when they travel to non-Western destinations, children are welcomed and even treasured — all without even knowing the same language! It has been said that the language of children is truly universal.

The most important thing that you can do is be open with your children and the rest of your family. If there are budget requirements that have to be met, you need to share this. Package deals will help you save money, and it all also help you if you know what you want when you arrive. This is why making out a full travel agenda is definitely a good thing.

Don’t get lost in the paperwork of travel, either — get a file system going to store all of your receipts and documents. The more you get the paperwork out of the way, the easier it will be to make everything else about your trip flow smoothly.

If you do nothing else, you really need to make sure that you are thinking about travel insurance. When you have small children in tow, hoping and praying that your insurance company’s policy that you already have will cover things is just not enough. It’s better to have a travel insurance plan that covers cancellations as well as emergency medical care.

Children can actually get quite a bit out of the travel experience, but it all boils down to what you’re willing to allow them to learn. As long as you’re flexible, everything else is possible!

So, you’ve decided to head to Italy for a holiday – good choice; the nation is one renowned for its wonderful authentic culture, beautiful art and architecture and sumptuous food. A great spot to base yourself in for an Italian getaway is the Tuscan city of Pisa – a coastal settlement known for its leaning tower and as being the birthplace of celebrated scientist Galileo Galilei.

To take in all the city has to offer, renting a car for the week or so you’re staying for is a good idea. Save your legs for exploring all the wonderful sites! Once your flight has touched down, you can browse car hire at Pisa Airport and choose a vehicle to get around quickly and easily.

There are some superb attractions to visit in your hire car, the most obvious of which is the leaning tower. Construction of the bell tower began in 1173 and it began to lean during the building process. Pay a visit to find out more. The tower is located on the Square of Miracles – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – which in itself is one of Pisa’s most popular tourist hotspots. Here, you can admire beautiful Pisan Romanesque buildings and sites, including the cathedral, baptistery and cemetery.

Travelling by car will mean you’ll be able to take in many of the city’s top sights in just one day! It’s also a really useful way of transporting people if you have children with you or are travelling in a group. Driving in any foreign country can be a new and challenging experience, so it’s worth bearing some important factors in mind when you visit Italy.

Rules and regulations

• Modern UK driver’s licences should be accepted in Italy; if you have an older version, you might need an International Driving Permit, too.
• All vehicles must carry a warning triangle, reflective jacket and – between October 15th and April 15th – snow chains.
• Vehicles with an overhanging load, such as a bicycle being carried at the rear, must display a reflective panel bearing red and white diagonal stripes.
• The majority of motorways will charge a levy for use.

Speed

• The legal limit in built-up areas is 31 mph, or 55 mph outside these places. Dual carriageways carry a limit of 68 mph and you can travel at up to 80 mph on motorways.
• If you’re a new driver, you must not travel faster than 55 mph outside built-up areas, or 62 mph on motorways if it has been less than three years since you passed your test.
• In wet weather, dual carriageways carry a lower limit of 55 mph and motorways 68 mph.

Penalties

• Fines are handed out on the spot and are increased for serious offences committed after 22:00 local time at night and before 07:00. These can be particularly heavy for speeding offences, as well as drink driving.
• The drink driving limit is 0.051 per cent of alcohol in the bloodstream. Drivers found to be above the limit may be fined, have their vehicle confiscated or be imprisoned.
• Drivers who have less than three years experience have a limit of zero alcohol in the bloodstream.

As long as you stay on the right side of the law, you can expect your getaway in Pisa to be memorable for all the right reasons.

There’s something big that has come to life with the start of the New Year, and it’s only grown from there. The “big trend” now is package holidays, and every tourist definitely benefits from them in a big way.

You see, all inclusive value means that you know exactly where you stand rather than worrying that you don’t have enough to travel in the first place. When you’re finally ready to use that holiday time that you’ve gotten saved up, you will want to make sure that you can get away from your regular life with confidence.

But you need to figure out exactly what you want your package holiday to look like. Do you want fun in the sun, or do you want to try to go on a ski holiday? It’s completely up to you.

What does it really mean to get an all inclusive package holiday? Quite a few things, actually. First and foremost, you will have all of your meals taken care of, as well as your hotel activities and entertainment. This means that if you want to sneak in that extra slice of cake at dinner time — nobody and nothing is stopping you at all!

What about if you want to go snorkeling — no problem! You’re going to be able to do just that.

Every hotel is going to have different amenities that are part of the all inclusive mentality. You might have to go with a more luxurious option in order to get say, spa treatments and the like. But if you’re looking for a break in prices, package holidays with all inclusive fare is definitely where you want to look.

Can all inclusive be a luxury thing? Absolutely! If you’re willing to pay more than the usual all inclusive rates, you will tap into a whole world of luxury that’s already set up for you. Gone are the days where you have to stress and struggle with planning your ultimate holiday — you can find what you’re looking for without worry or stress!

Is it kid friendly? Absolutely — there’s plenty of places to take the kids as well. You just need to make sure that you plan ahead and really make sure that you have everything under control. That’s the best way to really make sure that you are getting the experience that you want — especially if you have children.

On the other side of the coin, what if you’re looking for adults only all inclusive holidays? You will definitely find them online. There are plenty of packages for hotels and resorts that require everyone be either over 18 or over 21. It’s completely up to you to figure out where you want to go — don’t be afraid to get adventurous! Good luck!

Is Venice the most beautiful city in the world? We’re not sure but it definitely comes pretty close. If you’re thinking about going around Italy anytime during the summer, you really need to add Venice to your list. The romantic charm of Venice has been marred by modern development over the years, but there’s there a lot of appreciate about this old city.

You need to make sure that if you go during the summer time, you really want to make sure that you are protecting yourself accordingly. Venice can be pretty hot. IF you really don’t want to go during the summer, we suggest making a Spring Break type trip to Venice. This means that there won’t be so many tourists and you’ll be able to get a lot more accomplished on your own than you might expect.

If you want to get around the city of Venice, a boat trip is definitely the preferred method. You can get around pretty easily, especially because there are no cars. Everything is done on the water, with plenty of water buses and water taxes. If you’re going to go to Venice for a while, you really want to make sure that you go with the water buses rather than the taxis. It’s a lot less expensive.

Even if you don’t want to take the boats, you going to be able to walk just about anywhere that you want to go. However, you really need to make sure that you pace yourself. It’s far too easy to wear yourself out and be unable to push yourself to see anyone of the city.

It’s going to take some time to get used to Venice, but it’s really wroth it.

While you’re on foot, you can soak in all of the different sites. If you are a fan of viewing old churches, you might want to make sure that you get a church pass. This will get you into the churches that actually charge a fee.

Museums are also a way of life here — there are plenty of museums to choose from, and you might find yourself looking for the best one. There’s just so many to choose from, and they’re covered by a multi-entry ticket. We like the Correr Museum and the Doge’s Palace above all, but there’s also the La Fenice Theater that contains old history.

As you can see, this is definitely a city where you can check out a lot of older sights and sounds, as well as getting in a lot of outside time. Make sure that you don’t try to wear yourself out.

We really like the Rialto Bridge, which also features the farmer’s market on the west side. The farmer’s market can help you get a lot of fresh and interesting food, grown from around the region. If you’re interesting in “local food” movements, this is definitely where you want to be.

When it comes time to really figure out what you want to do, you have to check out the Voga Longa if you can. It’s a marathon run on water, where competitions have to row 32km under 3.5 to receive a certificate of attendance. However, if you have a human-powered vessel you can compete. Yet you really want to make sure that you have a solid background in rowing. It’s very intense and definitely not for beginner’s at all. So if you really want to make sure that you’re pushing yourself to the limit, you can definitely compete. However, if you know that this is not going to be something that’s within your specialties, you really need to just watch the competition.

Seeing Venice at sunset on the water bus is worth doing, no matter what it costs. You have to get pictures of everything!

A gondola ride is worth doing, especially if you’re a couple on holiday. It’s truly romantic and it’s a scene that the gondoliers are very used to. Make sure that you bargain with the operator because they are used to getting as much money as possible out of the tourists that want the gondola rides.

Shopping is a pastime in Venice, and there’s plenty of shopping to do. You really can find just about anything that you want there; it’s just a matter of spending the time looking for it.

The residents of Venice tend to sleep early, so you’re not going to find a lot of nightlife to choose from. This means if you really don’t want to do too much nightlife you can just stay in your hotel or apartment rental.

Tourists love getting the hand-made paper and Carnival masks. These items can be pricey, but if you have to have them, they are definitely worth it.

Venice isn’t known for great restaurants, as the food is much too simple for most foodies to take seriously. However, a lot of people find that great food is often simple food, so you will definitely find something that interests you. Of course, if you’re craving American-style Italian food, you might be in luck — there’s plenty of that around the tourist area of San Marco.

You also need to make sure that you aren’t going to your restaurant on the low price — many menus might be based on weight, which means that you could end up paying a lot more than what you expected.

You also need to make sure that you go with the flow. Cafes serve lunch to patrons while they stand up — it’s a great way to not only blend in with the locals, but you get good food at a cheap price.

If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll find plenty of ice cream to go around — it’s just a matter of working around long enough.

Staying a hotel is good, and you’ll find plenty of hotels across a wide variety of budgets. It’s just important to make sure that you’re really looking around as much as possible for the deal that’s going to be right for you. Why not check it out today?

That’s right — the time is right to start planning for a holiday to Venice. Even though it’s a little early, there’s no reason why you can’t start figuring out when you want to go. If you know that you want to take a good holiday somewhere, you probably already have the money saved up. Life is too short not to travel at least a little bit.

Why not make sure that you look into everything early? Who knows — maybe you might bring a few friends that will help you have a great time while you’re in Venice. There’s really only one way to find out, you know!

Trying to figure out where to go for your next Christmas holiday? It’s time to think about somewhere warm. Now, we’re not trying to talk bad about a nice white Christmas. Isn’t that the stuff that holiday songs are made of? Hot cider, sleigh rides…it’s all wonderful. We even have done quite a few winter vacations ourselves. But when you’re already surrounded by cold, we just can’t blame you for wanting to get away to somewhere warm for a change. Yet where do you really go when you want to actually feel some warm air on your back and a little sun on your skin?

Australia! Specifically Sydney, since that’s the topic of this guide and all. We covered Sydney a while back, but in the spirit of warm Christmas vacations, we decided that there’s a lot more to think about if you really want to plan the ultimate Christmas in the summer.

First and foremost, the Aussies definitely enjoy Christmas just as much as everyone else, even though it’s the warmest time of the year. This means that you will still see a lot of traditional Christmas stuff along with traditions that are truly Australian in nature. Just go with the flow — if you really want a traditional Australian Christmas, that’s perfectly okay — but make sure that you really do take the time to explore and maybe step out of your comfort zone a bit. For example, you will definitely see people grilling during this time of year. If you aren’t into that, then you can skip it but really, who isn’t into grilling?

Sydney is a very large city, with plenty of things to do. If you’re going to start from the top, you need to start with airfare. There are lots of great flights to Sydney that even can be combined into a package deal. This will give you the best in terms of accommodation, airfare, and even car hire if you’re interested in that. It’s better to think about all of the options that you want rather than just assuming that everything will fall into place on its own. If you want to start traveling around the start of the New Year, then now is definitely the best time to start planning. Last minute holiday trips are common to Sydney, but there might not be the same types of deals. It just deals on your willingness to do your search. There are a lot deals online, but you will still need to make sure that you read the fine print before you just plunge forward.

Keep in mind that the airports close in Australia from 11PM to 5:30AM local time. This means that you will also want to make sure that you can get into the airport and get out of it. Like other international locations, you might need to expect delays for security checkpoints. It would be best to bake in as much time as possible when you’re trying to schedule things. That way, you’re not having to rush around and leave yourself without options.

One thing that you really want to make sure that you take the time to add travel insurance to your list. Again, we know that this can be a touchy subject with people but we have to stress it anyway. Travel insurance is low cost enough to where you really owe it to yourself to make sure that you get good medical coverage. Do we want to have anything bad happen to you? Not at all. However, we’ve taken enough trips to know that sometimes accidents just sneak up on you. Sometimes things don’t work right and it’s good to know that if something gets cancelled, you can actually get reimbursed.

It would be better to make this purchase early on and have it. If you’re reading this guide you should already have a passport and your forms for a visa, but if you need those items it’s time to get them. The visa process won’t be difficult at all, but you will make sure that you have it before you can actually enter the country.

If you can help it, you might want to have a stopover in another country before you actually get into Sydney — the flight from some countries can actually be quite lengthy, and that means that you will have a lot of time on your hands. Sometimes it’s nice to explore another city on the way, which is why Sydney often becomes a city that’s included on “round the world” type trips.

There’s a lot of ways to get around, but we really recommend the bus system or even using the taxis. Since Australia is fully urbanized and industrial in its own right, the transit system is actually quite good. The Cityrail is actually very fast and you can handle everything without much hassle or fuss.

So, what about the things to actually do in Sydney? After all, you’re on Christmas holiday and you want to have a good time. Well, you will have to first realize that many tourist attractions do indeed close down Christmas Day as well as Boxing Day, which is the day after. You will still find a few places that are open, but it’s going to be a bit more hit or miss.

This is actually where having a vacation home in Sydney is a smart thing. If you’re not going to go with a package deal, then you really want to look for a good vacation home. It will give you the benefit of having a kitchen to call home. That’s better than trying to figure out where you’re going to cook all of your food. This is also invaluable if you have food allergies of any kind.

Of course, we’re getting off track — you want to know what you can do, not the things that you can’t do — right?

Right!

You have to check out all of the landmarks — like the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and the Opera House. It’s magnificent, and even if you’ve seen it in pictures, believe us — it’s nothing like actually seeing it up close.

There’s also plenty of wildlife, both in captivity and in the wild. The museum of Sydney is also a great draw if you’re into art and history combined.

There’s also time for swimming and cycling, which are two activities that the locals love doing. You’re going to also be able to kayak, canoe, and even mountain climb, which are all important things if you really want to have a good time and get in a little adrenaline rush at the same time.

The summer sport is definitely cricket, and Australians are very into it. If you don’t understand anything about cricket, you soon will.

There’s also a lot of greenspace available for people that just love to walk and take pictures. It’s completely up to you to figure out what you want to do.

Naturally, there are plenty of things to eat too. If you just got done with some of the Southeast Asian countries, you might be a little “sticker shocked” — the prices are higher, but you also have a higher degree of cleanliness than the average street booth in Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.

There’s still plenty of variety, since so many cultures do call Australia home now. Make sure that you get your food early — Sydney is not known for late night dining at all!

You will find things for every budget. If you really want to splurge on your food, you will find a lot of different high end restaurants waiting for you. The atmosphere is definitely worth it though!

Shoppers can also rejoice — there are a lot of different fashions that are uniquely Australian, and it’s high time that Australian designers start making their mark on the international scene. You will find numerous department stores, boutique shops and unique treasures waiting for you — don’t take our word for it though — look around yourself.

So, at the end of the day, should you really give Sydney a chance? We definitely think so — this is one of the largest and oldest cosmopolitan areas of Australia. It’s got a lot of culture, a lot of interesting people and a lot of things to do. If you’re really looking for a unique Christmas holiday, Sydney will not disappoint at all — we promise!

We’re big fans of travel, but we get even more excited when it’s time to talk about cities that might not always get the first ink. We’re talking about thinking about Reno instead of Las Vegas, of Aberdeen instead of Glasgow, and of Florence instead of Rome. There are plenty of cities that might not get your attention at first but trust us — they’re worth falling in love with.

The winter months are terrible, but you might remember from geography class that the Southern Hemisphere enjoys summer at the time where most of us in the Northern Hemisphere sludge through winter. So if you really want a great experience, it’s going to need to be traveling south for the winter, like the birds do.

But you definitely want to think about Brazil, as you begin planning. Rio de Janiero is the first city that pops into mind for a lot of people, but it’s certainly not the only thing that Brazil has to offer. It’s time to think about Sao Paulo, or Sampa as it’s affectionately called.

Why are we crazy about Sampa right now? Because it’s big. Really big. Huge. Like, 11 million people huge. And that’s the core city — if we go by metro stats it’s nearly 20 million. With so many people, you know that there are plenty of things to do. The food, the nightlife, the shopping… Sampa attracts a lot of people from all over the world. The people are warm and friendly and laid back, which are all great characteristics for a city.

Getting into the city is easy by plane. There’s a large airport to accommodate flights, and finding transportation is easy. For a city like Sao Paulo, we definitely recommend that you stick to public transportation. The traffic is absolutely insane and tourists can find themselves very frustrated with the local residents of the city. They know the traffic pattern; you don’t. Why put yourself through stress if you don’t have to. There are plenty of options when it comes to public transportation, so don’t try to skip over them. They are quite important indeed. Be prepared for delays though — with so many people, it goes without saying that things can be pretty complicated!

If you go nowhere else, you have to go to Paulista Avenue within the city. This is really the heart and soul of the area, which plenty of shops, art galleries, theaters, movie theaters, and even pubs and coffee shops. Bookstores, hotels, and gourmet restaurants also reign supreme here. If you want to figure out a great place for your accommodations, it’s probably going to be somewhere around Paulista Avenue.

The shopping options are just right in the city — you will find plenty of great deals if you look around. Specific interests are catered to in the city, and can you blame anyone? Most business owners will eventually get a profit if they work hard enough here in the city.

There are plenty of food options in Sao Paulo to choose from — trust us, you are definitely not going to be hurting for options. It’s just a matter of thinking what you want to eat. There are a few restaurants that are catering to tourist tastes, but if you really want to say that you experienced the best that the city has to offer, it’s all about going to get authentic Brazilian cuisine done Sao Paulo style. There are brown beans and rice, as well as rice, collard greens, and pork chops. Pork is definitely a local staple, and you’ll see plenty of it. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t find a good steakhouse hiding out there!

Like with food, you’re going to find a lot of options on sleeping accommodations. Of course, with so much to offer, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll do a lot of sleeping. Now is just the right time to really make sure that you get everything in order when it’s time to get your trip underway.

Since this is still a popular destination (though not as popular as Rio), you want to book in advance. Last minute trips can be done, but why put yourself under stress you don’t need. Just don’t forget your travel insurance and you’ll be just fine — try it out for yourself!

Most people think that a travel agency and a tour operator are the same things. The truth is that these are separate and they will handle different journey parts. We can say that the biggest difference that can be noticed stands in the services that are being offered. The difference between the two started to be obvious from 1992. That is when the travel companies started to be liable based on the part of the travel process that they are handling.

What do the tour operators do?

The tour operators are those that offer more services and that are usually more liable in the event that something bad will happen. The travel agents are basically going to obtain a commission for referring you to a tour operator. We can say that the travel agents are similar to real estate agents that are selling properties. The scope stands out as the biggest difference between tour operators and travel agencies. A travel agent will offer specific services and will act as an intermediate service between travelers and airlines.

Agents will never have anything to do with how a tour runs and will never be attached with any actual service or facility.

We can also notice a difference between tour operators and travel agencies in the way in which they will be paid. Agents will receive commissions for all services and the money that they will receive is not much as compared to the tour operator.

Where to go to?

As you can clearly see, the tour operator will simply do a lot more than the travel agent. This basically means that it is a much better idea to go to a tour operator. However, the entire situation is quite tricky. This is due to the fact that a travel agent might have connections with different tour operators. The tour operator will have contracts with different hotels in various parts of the world but the services will be different than what another tour operator would offer. The travel agent will usually have many more offers since they are currently working with many tour operators. This basically means that for people that are looking for diversity, it is necessary to visit a travel agent. However, the best prices are going to be obtained when directly contacting the tour operator. The entire situation might seem to be complicated but it all boils down to personal wishes and needs.

The holidays are a great time for traveling, but you’re going to need to prepare ahead of time if you want to really create an experience that will leave behind memories that last a lifetime. It’s tempting to think that you can just travel at the last minute and still pull off an amazing holiday party, but that’s just not the case.

Holiday parties while traveling can be a fun way to mix things up, but you really need to make sure that you have the full cooperation of everyone on board. You will definitely want to make sure that you think about everything involved in getting your party off the ground.

Let’s start with location. You really want to make sure that you keep things fresh with a nice destination that everyone can agree with. If you’re going to travel during the winter months, why not select a tropical location that’s going to make you feel incredible? That would be the best way to go. When people are regretting snow, showing them a sunny place can make them really want to go.

If you’re going to be doing a vacation, you’re going to need to think about the costs that everyone’s going to have to share. You don’t want to be stuck with last minute expenses that take out of your personal vacation budget. If people need to get passports, it might be a good thing to really ensure that you plan in advance. A lot of people tend to put too much stock in getting rush service — nothing relating the government is ever “expedited” to our liking. You need to bake in enough time to not only send the paperwork over, but to receive your passport back.

When it comes to trying to travel, you’re going to want to make absolutely sure that everyone is in agreement. Yes, we stated that from the get go but when you’re trying to pull off something complicated, you’re going to be surrounded by a lot of different ideas and attitudes. It can be tempting to deviate from your plan to make one or two people happy, but that’s not a good idea at all.

Try to think about the details of the holiday party itself. Will you be able to buy everything you need on location? If you think that you’re going to be able to carry everything you need for the party, you might want to think again. Unless you really want to overstep the weight limits for air travel and pay heavy fees, you’re going to be limited on what you can bring. If you already know your destination and accommodations ahead of time, you’re going to want to send everything ahead of time. This can be costly though, so make sure that you figure out the most affordable option.

The local laws of your host country will play a role in what you can buy when you get there. If you are going to a country that has very few alcohol options, then you know that you will not be able to serve alcohol. If you’re trying to prepare meals for a small group, you might want to think about vacation rentals rather than hotels. That way you would actually get a stovetop that you can use to cook food. You might even get an oven. This will cut down on you having to go to a restaurant and pay money. Naturally, if you really do want to make sure that you are going to have fine food, then it might be worth your while to work in a restaurant — private rooms are available at fine restaurants for parties all the time.

The overall point here is that your holiday party will be what you make of it. If you have doubts about whether or not someone will come, it’s better to assume that they will come rather than assume that they won’t. That way if you have extra left over, you can distribute it around the group rather than come up short because you didn’t plan ahead.

When it comes to the holiday party itself, you also want to make sure that you capture the event. Having a good digital camera and/or camcorder means that you will always have the memories to look at later. Since you will want to be the best host for your guests, you might want to make sure that you actually have a way to give the guests the photos and video clips from the party.

The social media revolution has made that pretty effortless, since you can just upload everything to Facebook. Privacy setting scan be built in to make sure that only the people from the party have the ability to see that photo album or that video. It’s completely up to you, so don’t feel pressured to do something that you’re going to regret later.

Overall, you have the power to create an amazing party and enjoy another destination that’s going to create wonderful experiences for your travel group. The holiday season is a time where you really need to plan carefully, but there are always deals to be had for people that know their research skills are up to par — look carefully, plan well, and execute quickly. That’s the real key to typing everything together. Yes, you might be a little nervous as time passes, but you do have the power to make big things happen, so don’t delay — plan your holiday party today — holiday style!

OK, we wrote so much about luxury travel that some of our budget travelers asked us to talk about something related to backpacking. After all, the idea of having to spend a lot of money to go on vacation and see the world just doesn’t hold anymore water anymore. It’s all about being able to have a good time and really get experiences that will create long-lasting memories — long enough to last a lifetime. We really want to make sure that you’re having a good time from start to finish on your backpacking trip, but all of that starts with a good travel backpack. There are plenty of different backpacks out there, and the right one for you will naturally depend on the purpose that you have for the backpack. You don’t want to try to wait till the last minute to actually get a good backpack. It’s something that you might want to order as early as possible so that you can pack everything in advance.

One thing that tends to frustrate people is that packing for a backpacking trip means that you’re going to actually have to make some pretty tough choices. You’re not going to be able to just pack anything that you want. You’re going to actually have to start thinking about everything in terms of importance. Remember that if you leave something out, it’s goings to be costly to actually buy it on your trip. In fact, many backpackers often go places that aren’t as well stocked as they might be used to, and that tends to make things rather interesting in the long run.

Don’t worry; you can still get a good backpack. Unless you’re going to travel in areas where you’ll be camping, you’ll want to make sure that you actually get an internal frame model. An external frame model is great when you need to clip additional stuff onto it, but if you’re not looking for something like that then you should definitely make sure that you focus more on the type of space you have to work with. Remember that the bigger backpacks are going to allow you to carry more stuff but that comes at the cost of weight. You are going to have to also think about weight in terms of not just how much you can handle carrying for long periods of time, but you’re going to need to also think about the type of weight you’re allowed to carry onto the plane if you will be doing international backpacking or even backpacking in another state. Anytime that you travel by plane you must consider weight before anything else. Otherwise you’ll end up running into the problem of either not being able to carry everything with you, or having to pay a massive surcharge just to get your luggage on the plane. That can be problematic in many ways.

Since we’re on the subject of air travel, you will also need to make sure that you actually follow the air travel regulations as far as what’s allowed to come with you and what isn’t. Liquids will need to be carefully measured. If you are over the limit, those items will be confiscated and discarded. There’s no reason in the world to go through this when all it takes is a little planning!

Durability is also going to matter a great deal. You really want to make sure that you’re looking at the way your backpack of choice is actually constructed. It can be tempting to just assume that everything is going to be just fine, but you definitely want to look around. Go to an outdoor store if you really want, but you can also read reviews online on places like Amazon to make sure that you’re really getting the best backpack for your money. Yes, you are going to want to invest some money into this — this isn’t a school backpack, you know!

The form factor that you choose will play a role. Some backpackers really like side loading bags, because they have a bit more choice in how they get stuff out of it. If you’re the type of person that can load items in sequence, then you might want to actually think about a top loading bag. Some people like them, some people don’t. If you’re really not sure you can always read reviews on the matter and then make your own decisions. That’s also the nice part about ordering online — if you find that you really don’t like the backpack, you can always return it and try another one.

Don’t forget to look for a backpack that’s going to let you display identification tags and other important information. You want to make sure that your backpack can be returned to you if it’s lost, and you also want someone to be able to identify you if you collapse with your backpack on. It’s a tough thing to think about, but it’s absolutely something that you’re going to have to plan for and just hope it never happens. At least you’ll be properly prepared, right? This is also the case for security — nobody wants to imagine that someone would try to break into their backpack, but it can indeed happen.

If you want to drive into town to try on different backpacks but buy online, you can definitely do that too. This will give you the most options in terms of being able to move around freely with the backpack, but going online will give you the savings that you’re looking for. It’s just really tough for offline stores to compete with the online businesses.

This is also a purchase that really needs to be done as a new purchase rather than buying used equipment. You just don’t know what type of strain has been on that backpack, and do you really want to deal with the possibility of a failure when you least expect it?
