Islands of Adventure is an attraction belonging to Universal Studios.  Steven Spielberg worked on this attraction as a creative consultant and his design influence can be seen throughout.  Because it is a popular tourists site, it is recommended to arrive well before their 9am opening time.

Even though the lines can be long, if you possess a fast pass from Universal Studios, you can book your ticket in advance to receive a quick admission during the specified time given to you by Universal Studios.

If the idea of taking a swim with dolphins interests you, Discovery Cove is a must-see attraction.  Besides swimming in a lovely lagoon surrounded by dolphins, you can see exotic fish and rays while reef diving and snorkeling.  Their Wind-Away River allows you to take a relaxing ride in a slow-moving stream as you experience feeding colorful birds straight from your hands.  With a maximum visitor allowance of 1,100, there is never the annoyance of fighting through throngs of excited tourists.

The extensive marine life available for viewing at Sea World is astounding–sharks, killer whales, turtles, barracudas, dolphins, penguins, an so much more.  There is much more to see than collections of marine animals.  Tourists have the opportunity to enjoy the rides of the Journey Atlantis, Kraken, and Wild Arctic.  The food served is also amazing.  Sea World is a tourist site so popular that many people come to Orlando solely for this attraction.

Anyone who goes to Universal Studios will have a unique, moving-viewing experience.  Children will love catching glimpses of famous movie characters who roam about Universal and adults will enjoy seeing actual tapings of television shows as Universal Studios is still an active movie and television production studio.  Universal even shows specially released movies that can not be seen but at the studio.  And the rides are a favorite of both children and adults.

Gatorland

Gatorland provides a refreshing change of pace from the commercialized attractions Orlando has to offer.  Located towards Kissimmee, Florida, Gatorland is known as one of Orlando’s original attractions where visitors can look at alligators and crocodiles native to not only Florida, but also the rest of the world.

For those who shy away from large, live reptiles, Gatorworld also has a petting zoo full of animals such as goats, llamas, deer, emus, and tortoises.  However, rest assured that all gators and crocs are kept in secure areas inaccessible to tourists and their children.  It is a fantastic way to spend a fun afternoon while learning about the ecological system of Florida.

This is one of the most beautiful stretches of highway that ever plowed through the mountains. You’ll drive through Greenville along your journey where you can visit the historical site that features two homes belonging to President Andrew Jackson. Take a detour onto US Route 321 and ride along Great Smoky Mountains National Park. On the second leg of this two day trip, you can drive through park or spend some time at the Dollywood theme park nearby.

Overseas Highway, Florida

Only a country that loves cars as much as we do would build a 105 miles worth of asphalt and concrete to link the islands from Key Largo to Key West. You’ll be on a causeway or bridge the entire drive, surrounded by brilliant blue water. It’s an absolutely mind blowing drive. Here’s a word of advice: traffic is less crowded in early summer and spring before the major waves of vacationers hit the area. For a view of the sunset that would make a religious man out of anyone, catch the view from Mallory Square Dock in Key West.  

Pierre to Mount Rushmore, South Dakota

You’ll think that post cards and bobble heads are criminal once you gaze upon the majesty of Mount Rushmore in person. Once you see it, you’ll forget that you just drove 200 miles across scenery that looks like a painted canvass. From your starting point in Pierre, travel along US Route 83. It’ll take you across the Missouri River, and through grasslands to Interstate 90 West. For a taste of true South Dakota, take a trip off the main road and visit Murdo for the best buffalo burgers you’ll ever eat. There’s also Badlands National Park, home to mind blowing canyons and Rapid City, and home of the biggest dead president faces you’ll ever see carved into a natural land formation.

Monterey to Morro Bay, California

If I have to tell you that California’s Route 1, which glides like a surfer on the waves along the State’s central coast, is one of the best drives in the universe – then you don’t know anything about road trips. Start your journey in Monterey and wind your way through the scenery that makes California the world’s favorite State. You’ll pass Big Sur, where you’ll see the Santa Lucia Range roll down into the ocean. You’ll finish up somewhere round San Simeon, where the Hearst Castle boasts brilliant architectural design, but won’t hold a candle to what the good, green earth just laid upon your eyes.

I don’t need to tell you that you don’t take road trips on a whim. Plan your route ahead of time and tried and true map. Some of the best sites this place has to offer won’t be found on some click and print internet directions.

1. The most obvious place to consider is the US’s version of paradise, Hawaii. With things to do and places to go for all types of couples, Hawaii has enough to keep anyone blissfully occupied. The beaches are plentiful, the scenery unbeatable, and the activities numerous. During the day you can go snorkeling, swimming, golfing, or sun bathing. And what better way to end every day than by sharing a poetic sunset over the Pacific.

2. Second only to Hawaii as a popular honeymoon location, Niagara Falls is well prepared to provide newly weds with a memorable, romantic vacation. View the world’s second larges waterfall from a distance or get up close with a lovely boat trip to the base of the Falls. Because of its popularity, couples can find an amazing number of locations, shops, and restaurants made just for those just married. Escape for a day or two for some real privacy at the Catskill Mountains located within easy driving distance.

3. For some of the most tropical beaches on the continental US, consider Florida. To bring out the kid, spend some time getting to know your significant other at Disney World. Disney World has been drawing the attention of honeymooners for several decades and now provides many unique experiences that will truly seem magical. If you prefer beaches, plan to go further south toward Miami or the Keys. These beautiful beaches are ripe for making some unforgettable memories with your loved one.

4. California maybe well known for its crowds and stars, but the northern part of the state is also a great place to go for a romantic getaway, particularly near San Francisco. From the wineries to the ocean, this city truly helps put you at peace while keeping you wanting more. Take a day to go for a ride around the scenic views and small towns near the city, or plan a trip up the coast and stay in a new bed and breakfast every night.
