Not everyone’s idea of a romantic travel destination is the same. And it is not only a particular type of couple who want to go away to be together. Young lovers, newlyweds, couples celebrating time together – all of them may wish to travel to an exotic, romantic getaway. But ask each couple separately and you may come up with a multitude of different types of holiday, which each of them might think of as romantic.

Paris
Perhaps the most iconic place to visit for a romantic holiday is Paris. What better way to propose to your girlfriend than on top of the Eiffel Tower? What can be better than to stroll hand in hand along the Champs Elysees at night with all the lights on the beautiful trees around you?
Dubrovnik
Croatia is not a country which readily springs to mind as especially romantic, but think of the scenic town of Dubrovnik on the Southern Adriatic, and just the thought of that gorgeous place brings up all sorts of possibilities. This is probably why it is one of the most visited tourist destinations of the area.
Venice
Ah Venice, beautiful, romantic, smelly Venice. Which couple would not love to lay hand in hand in a covered gondola while a gondolier serenades them with his operatic arias? Or perhaps have a stroll hand in hand near the Basilica? Venice is so full of art and history that you cannot fail to be enchanted.
Nevis
For something a bit different, how about a romantic Caribbean getaway? Nevis is slightly more off the beaten track. Most visitors will go to Barbados or Jamaica, which can provide them with all they need. But for a change, and a step back into history, Nevis can provide a new experience. It is roughly 40 square miles and offers people the opportunity to stay in actual plantation houses.
When searching for a romantic destination, it is best to consider what you would both like to do. It is not very romantic if only one person enjoys it. To get around this, it is best and really easy with the internet, to look for somewhere which will provide the two of you with opportunities to do what you both enjoy best.
